My name is Tanya Keigan, and I’m a multidisciplinary artist and designer living in Nova Scotia, Canada. I’m inspired by nature, the cosmos, music, words, humour, and the wonder of being alive on Planet Earth. My style is colourful, bold, expressive, graphic, and technical. I work with my hands using Copic Markers, watercolours, acrylics, and technical pens. I work with computers using Adobe programs like Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign. I make drawings, paintings, prints, and photographs. When I’m not at my desk, I like to ride bicycles, go to farmer’s markets and art/craft shows/galleries, wander in nature, and spend time with my partner and cats.

I’m an award-winning designer with a Bachelor of Design from OCADU in Toronto, an Art Fundamentals Certificate from Sheridan College in Oakville, ON, and a Small Business Management Certificate from Mohawk College in Hamilton, ON. I’ve worked for internationally recognized architecture firms and design studios in Toronto, ON, such as KPMB Architects and BMD. I’ve worked with clients such as Samsung, the Panama Museum of Biodiversity, Manitoba Hydro, Concord Cityplace, Meadowlands Stadium, Pistachio, and many more!

Every job I’ve ever had has been art or design related. I’ve worked as a screen printer, retail at art stores, tradeshow representative for Copic Makers, graphic designer, interior designer, landscape designer, and a freelancer working in graphic design and commissioned artwork before officially opening my business, The Oak & Chickadee, in the Winter of 2023.
